THE SEASONS

Travelling to Antartica is pretty straightforward when it comes to seasons. From the end of October through to the middle of March, Antartica provides an array of experiences and events. We have defined

  • MARCH - MAY

When the long rains start to pour over these months it means you’ll grab accommodation at a bargain and most places will be fairly quiet. On the flipside, wildlife is harder to spot and more dispersed. There will be fewer vehicles but sometimes the tracks become impassable and mosquitoes are rife. Those more budget conscious, this is definitely time to make the most of great accommodation at a low price but be warned.

  • NOV - DEC

Although this is the time of the short rains, it is a great time to visit. Reservations are still recommended in advance but prices will drop slightly. Wildlife viewing remains good as herds of grazers like plains zebra, gazelles and their predators move onto Segera’s lush plains.

  • JUN-OCT, JAN-FEB

The spectacular annual wildebeest migration is a spontaneous natural event therefore forever changing. As a general rule they ted to arrive in the Mara between July and September. Throughout January and February conditions are dry and hot making Iit perfect for wildlife viewing. As these seasons are both the optimum time to visit Kenya, camp and lodge prices are high, especially from July to October.
